We’ve answered some of our most frequently asked questions below to make shopping and selling with us as straightforward as possible.
SHOPPING WITH SHOPUBBI
Is everything on SHOPUBBI secondhand?
No.
SHOPUBBI offers both Pre-Loved merchandise and brand-new merchandise through SHOPUBBI+.
Pre-Loved pieces have been previously owned, although they may never have actually been worn or used. SHOPUBBI+ merchandise is brand new.
We clearly distinguish between the two so you know what you’re purchasing.
What does Pre-Loved mean?
Pre-Loved means an item entered SHOPUBBI through the resale market rather than our new-merchandise channels.
That doesn’t necessarily mean it has been worn.
Our Pre-Loved inventory can include New With Tags, New Without Tags, barely worn, gently worn and select previously enjoyed merchandise.
Each item’s individual condition is disclosed using the SHOPUBBI Condition Scale.
What is SHOPUBBI+?
SHOPUBBI+ is our collection of brand-new merchandise.
It exists alongside our Pre-Loved marketplace and allows SHOPUBBI to offer new fashion, accessories, home, furniture and lifestyle products in addition to resale.
SHOPUBBI+ merchandise is sourced separately from our Pre-Loved inventory and may have different shipping, fulfillment and return terms.
What is UBBIKINI?
UBBIKINI is our swim and resortwear brand available through SHOPUBBI.
It includes swimwear and complementary pieces selected for beach, vacation and resort wardrobes.
CONDITION & AUTHENTICITY
How do I know what condition a Pre-Loved item is in?
Every Pre-Loved item is assigned an applicable condition rating:
NWT — New With Tags
NWOT — New Without Tags
Excellent — Barely Worn
Great — Lightly Worn
Good — Gently Worn
Fair — Visible Wear
We also use product descriptions and imagery to communicate relevant signs of wear or imperfections.
Are SHOPUBBI luxury items authentic?
SHOPUBBI does not knowingly accept or sell counterfeit merchandise.
Applicable designer and luxury pieces are evaluated through our authentication process, which can include review of materials, construction, hardware, stitching, markings, serial information and other brand-specific characteristics.
For select merchandise, additional technology-assisted authentication may also be used.
Does every designer item come with its original receipt or packaging?
No.
Because Pre-Loved merchandise comes from individual sellers and other resale sources, original receipts, boxes, dust bags, tags and other accessories aren’t always available.
When original accessories or documentation are included, we aim to identify them within the product information.
The absence of original packaging doesn’t necessarily indicate that an item is inauthentic.
ORDERS & SHIPPING
Where does SHOPUBBI ship?
SHOPUBBI serves customers across Canada and the United States, with shipping availability for additional destinations depending on the product and applicable checkout options.
Available shipping methods and costs are displayed during checkout where applicable.
Where will my order ship from?
SHOPUBBI operates across multiple fulfillment locations in Canada and the United States.
Your order may ship from Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Santa Cruz or Los Angeles, depending on where the merchandise is held.
Some orders containing multiple products may be fulfilled separately.
How quickly will my order ship?
Processing and delivery times depend on the merchandise being purchased.
Pre-Loved, SHOPUBBI+, furniture and other product categories may have different fulfillment timelines.
Please review the applicable shipping information provided on the product page, at checkout or within our Shipping Policy before ordering.
This wording is important because we don’t want to repeat the old site problem where one global FAQ promises a timeline that doesn’t apply to SHOPUBBI+.
Can I pick up my order?
Local pickup may be available for eligible orders in select SHOPUBBI markets.
Because inventory is distributed across multiple fulfillment locations, pickup is not available for every product.
If your order qualifies, applicable pickup information will be provided or arranged with the SHOPUBBI team.
Please don’t arrive at a pickup location without confirmation.
RETURNS
Can I return something I purchase from SHOPUBBI?
Return eligibility depends on the type of merchandise purchased.
Because SHOPUBBI sells a combination of unique Pre-Loved merchandise, SHOPUBBI+ products and other product categories, different return terms may apply.
Always review the applicable return policy before purchasing.
Are Pre-Loved items returnable?
We should insert the exact current rule here once we rebuild the Returns Policy, rather than write a vague answer that could conflict with your actual terms.
I’d literally leave this FAQ unpublished until we’ve finalized that policy.
Can SHOPUBBI+ items be returned?
SHOPUBBI+ follows its applicable return terms, which may differ from Pre-Loved merchandise.
Eligibility can depend on the item and product category.
SELLING WITH SHOPUBBI
Can I sell my clothes to SHOPUBBI?
Yes.
SHOPUBBI considers eligible clothing, handbags, footwear, jewelry, watches, accessories, luxury merchandise and select vintage pieces.
We’re curated, so not every item submitted will be accepted.
Do I need to own designer merchandise to consign?
No.
While luxury and designer resale are an important part of SHOPUBBI, we also consider contemporary, premium, vintage and other desirable merchandise.
We evaluate the individual piece—not simply the label.
How do I submit something?
Start by sending clear photographs and basic information about the pieces you’d like to sell.
Our team will review your submission and determine whether the merchandise is currently a fit for SHOPUBBI.
How much do I earn?
Your payout is primarily determined by the item’s final selling price.
Under our new structure, cash consignment payouts range from 50% to 75%, with higher-value sales earning higher commission percentages.
Consignors who choose eligible SHOPUBBI Credit receive an additional 5%, allowing payouts of up to 80% in store credit.
Who determines the selling price?
SHOPUBBI evaluates factors including original retail value, current market value, comparable resale activity, brand, condition, age, rarity, seasonality and customer demand.
Our goal is to appropriately represent your item’s value while positioning it at a price with a realistic opportunity to sell.
Can the price of my consigned item change?
Yes.
Resale markets change over time, and pricing may be adjusted according to market conditions, demand, promotions and the terms of your consignment agreement.
Your applicable commission tier is based on the final selling price.
Do I have to live near SHOPUBBI to sell with you?
No.
Eligible sellers across Canada and the United States can use our remote selling options.
Depending on the merchandise and selling arrangement, you may ship accepted pieces to SHOPUBBI or qualify for a remote listing arrangement.
Where can I consign locally?
Local consignment drop-off is available by arrangement in select SHOPUBBI markets, including Vancouver, Santa Cruz and Los Angeles.
Items should be submitted and approved before arranging a drop-off.
Can I keep my item until it sells?
For certain eligible remote selling arrangements, yes.
Approved sellers may be able to retain possession of merchandise while SHOPUBBI markets it.
If you participate in this program, the merchandise must remain available and in substantially the same condition represented in your original submission.
Does SHOPUBBI buy items outright?
Select merchandise may qualify for a direct buyout.
If eligible, SHOPUBBI can make an individual offer to purchase the merchandise directly rather than selling it under the standard percentage-based consignment structure.
Not every submission qualifies for direct purchase.
